Gone are the warm days of summer, it's getting colder and the dark nights are rapidly drawing in. But it's not all doom and gloom, a new season means new clothes! and the best thing about autumn (other than halloween) is that it's the perfect season for layering. So bring out those cosy jumpers and oversized hoodies that have been stashed away all summer long and get layering up!

AUGUST'S FAVOURITES

I can't believe it's September already, it only seems like yesterday I was writing up my July favourites. Where has the time gone?

So summer is pretty much over now, not that we've had much of one this year, the weather has been dreadful! But despite the lack of sun this august, it was a really good month.

Now, onto August's favourites...

WHY YOU NEED A T-SHIRT DRESS

DRESS // ONE ABOVE ANOTHER *
TIGHTS & KIMONO // BOOHOO
BOOTS // DR MARTENS
CHOKER // NEWLOOK
SUNGLASSES // PRIMARK

Do you ever get those days when your outfit just doesn't work no matter what you do?
Well it happens to me and it usually leads to the contents of my wardrobe being discarded all over the floor, it's so frustrating! But I have found the answer to days like this and it comes in the form of a t-shirt dress.

Yes, the humble t-shirt dress, an item that everyone should have in their wardrobe. They are versatile, comfortable and come in a huge range of styles + fabrics. What I love the most about the t-shirt dress is that it's something you can just throw on and be ready within a matter of minutes, minimal effort is required as the dress does all the work for you.

STATEMENT DENIM

 JEANS //  ONE ABOVE ANOTHER
TOP // BLUE RINSE VINTAGE
BOOTS // RIVER ISLAND
CHOKER // NEW LOOK
SOCKS & BELT // PRIMARK

Statement jeans are definitely having a moment, and I don't want it to go away!

Once considered a basic staple of your wardrobe the modest jean has had a revamp. From raw hems and distressing to embroidery and embellishment, the options are endless!

So when I was sent these statement flame jeans by One Above Another I was over the moon! One above Another are a streetwear brand, based in Birmingham, that sell unique, badass and over the top garments. If you haven't heard of them I strongly suggest you check them out. Their collections are full of vinyl fabrics, sequins, oversized shapes and distressed denims, basically they're right up my street. So if your like me and love your statement, eye catching pieces it's definitely the brand for you.

JULY'S FAVOURITES

I cannot believe that July is over already, where has this year gone!?

So this is the first of my monthly series, something I've been meaning to do for a while now. At the end of each month I'll be sharing with you the products I love and have been using the most over the last four weeks.

Here is July's favourites...

90s GRUNGE REVIVAL

DRESS & TIGHTS // BOOHOO
GLASSES, CHOKER &BAG // PRIMARK
SHOES // ROSEG (AMAZON)
DENIM JACKET // CHARITY SHOP

One of the biggest fashion comebacks over the past few years has to be the 90s grunge revival and it doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon. From vintage band tees and oversized plaid shirts to chokers and combat boots, it's ALL back and I love it!

IDGAF

SWEATER // MISSGUIDED (VIA DEPOP)
BOOTS // DR. MARTENS
TIGHTS & CHOKER // BOOHOO
SUNGLASSES // SNOOPERS PARADISE
SHORTS, BELT & BRALET // PRIMARK

If you follow my blog you will know I'm a big fan of repurposing and buying preloved clothing from places like eBay, charity shops and vintage stores. I believe that everyone should practice at least one form of sustainable fashion whether it's through donating and recycling or buying items second hand.

A great way to buy and sell your clothes is through apps like depop, they are so useful particularly if your not a fan of rummaging through endless rails! If you don't know what depop is it's basically an app where you can buy and sell items, similar to ebay but focused more towards fashion. It's become one of my go to places to find rare, vintage and discontinued products.

My most recent depop find is this Missguided graphic sweater and I LOVE it! From the bold Thrasher inspired font to the oversized fit it was perfect and at £10 I just had to get it!

For the rest of the look I decided to only use black and yellow tones. By keeping the colour palette simple it gives the overall look a strong visual impact.

VINTAGE DAZE

SWEATER // PRIMARK
LEATHER JACKET // DOLLY MIX VINTAGE
JEANS // ZARA
SANDALS // TOPSHOP
BELT + SUNGLASSES // PRIMARK

I do love a good vintage find, there is nothing quite like the feeling of discovering a beautiful and unique vintage piece, even more so when it's in your size! Yet I know that quite a few people are a bit dubious about shopping vintage and I'm not gonna lie it can take a lot of effort to find something that you like, that fits and is still in a wearable condition. But isn't the hunt what it's all about? and besides I find the rewards greatly outweigh the negatives.

DIY FLORAL BERET

Floral embroidery is so on trend this season and I am loving it! From denim jackets to statement boots it is everywhere. Inspired by the 1970s this trend has made its way to the forefront of fashion, evolving from its roots into a more refined and slick form.

What I love the most about this trend is how easy it is to replicate yourself, all you need is a needle and thread or a patch to up cycle your old garments into something new and unique!

So today I am going to show you how to create your very own floral beret on a budget, it's such a quick and simple DIY that you'll have a chic hat in no time!

DRESSING FOR SPRING

SWEATER // TU
SOCKS // HUF
BODYSUIT // PRIMARK
HAT // PRIMARK
BOOTS // RIVER ISLAND
SHADES // SNOOPERS PARADISE

Spring is finally here with its warmer days and lighter evenings, I am loving it, goodbye winter!
With all that being said spring can be one of the most unpredictable seasons as far as the weather goes, so it can become a bit of a chore when it comes to choosing a suitable outfit.

MY TOP 5 MAKE UP PRODUCTS

I love makeup, I have tonnes of it! Unfortunately there is only so much of it you can wear at once! Recently I have been looking at reducing my collection as there are so many products that I rarely use, it really is amazing how quickly you can accumulate makeup! Amongst my vast collection are a few core items that I use on a regular basis, they are definitely my favourite products to use and wear, so I thought I would share them with you...

HOW I STYLE AN OUTFIT

JACKET // TOPSHOP
T-SHIRT // PULP
SHIRT // PEACOCKS
JEANS // DOROPHY PERKINS
BOOTS // SHOE ZONE
BEANIE & BELT // PRIMARK
TIGHTS // EBAY

In today's world of fast fashion where everything is mass produced it can be a challenge to stand out from the crowd, yet there is a simple and inexpensive way in which you can set yourself apart and that is through the means of styling.

Styling is when you make an outfit more dynamic whether it's through layering, contrasting colours & fabrics or working with different textures. Take it to the extreme with lots of bold accessories or keep it minimal and clean, it's entirely up to you but whatever you do make it your own!

There are numerous ways to style and wear an outfit, the images below show how I built up this particular look from a simple band t-shirt and jean combo. As you can tell from the images I like to pay attention to small details, I believe that these details and finishing touches really tie the whole look together.

Hopefully this will give you some ideas and inspiration on how to style up your look.

Do you have any favourite styling techniques? I'd love to find out, let me know in the comments below!

PRIMARK HAUL

So earlier on this week I took a trip to Primark as I was in need of some new clothes and I have to say that I'm loving what they have in at the moment, they've got some really cool on trend pieces. I was really happy with what I brought so I decided to do a haul post to show you guys what I got...

APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION

COAT // ZARA
T-SHIRT // PRIMARK
JEANS // ZARA
BOOTS // DR. MARTENS
BEANIE // DIY
LIPS // JEFEREE STAR

It's been a while since I've been on here but now I'm back with a whole new blog layout and my first outfit post of the year.

Over the last few months I have been consciously avoiding shooting looks outside as the weather has been so grim! However last week we were lucky enough for the sun to grace us with its presence.

This week's outfit has to be one of my favourite go to looks of the month. I practically live in band t-shirts they are very versatile and go so well with the effortlessness and muted tones of the grunge aesthetic that I am so in love with right now.

CABIN BOY JUMPED SHIP PHOTOSHOOT

Some of you may or may not know but my boyfriend Jay, who patiently photographs most of my outfit photos on here, is also in a band called Cabin Boy Jumped Ship. They have released two EPs and are currently working on their first album. I've pretty much done all of their promo photos throughout the years, however, these new ones I shot a few weeks ago definitely have to be my favourite by far. Check them out below...
