It's been a while since I've posted but I'm finally back! I don't know about you but I really struggle to find the time to do anything around this time of year, let alone keep up with my blog! This along with a bad case of writers block has left me sitting on these photos for over a month now, so I thought it was about time I shared them!

JUMPER SEASON

It has been freezing here in the UK over the past few weeks and unfortunately I just so happen to be one of those people that are ALWAYS cold! The upside to this colder weather though means that it is well and truly jumper season! I love winter fashion, it's my favourite thing about the colder months, all those warm knits, excessive layers and cozy accessories, there is so much choice and endless style combinations.

My favourite fashion trend this winter though has to be the statement jumper. There are so many options out there I've seen jumpers adorned with faux fur, pearls and sequins. All in a range of different shapes and sizes, from oversized fits and cropped cuts to statement sleeves and cold shoulders. I could go on and on, there is so much out there right now!

ALL ABOUT THOSE SLEEVES

So obviously I've gone a bit crazy on the statement jumpers this season, I have quite the collection! But my favourite one by far has to be this gorgeous, sequin embellished jumper from Zara. I have to say I am absolutely loving statement sleeves right now and this jumper doesn't disappoint. The exaggerated balloon sleeves are such a strong feature, this along with the sequin embellishment and contrasting embroidery really makes for a unique piece. This will definitely be a key item in my wardrobe this season.

As for the rest of this outfit I decided to keep it simple as the jumper is such a strong piece. I stuck to an all black colour scheme with some faux leather trousers, my favourite pair of Dr. Martens and a PVC bag I found in Primark. The only other pop of colour is seen in my makeup as a way to tie the whole look together, mimicking the colour accents in the jumper.

I really enjoyed creating this look, it is such a simple outfit to put together but with the combination of all these different textures, embellishments and fabrics it really gives the illusion that more effort has gone into this look than it actually has. This is perfect for when you don't have the time to style an outfit, you can just chuck it on and let it do all the work for you!

Do you have a favourite, go to jumper this season? Let me know in the comments below!
