As much as I love entirely black looks sometimes you just have to break the mould and step away from your usual aesthetic as it can get pretty boring and uninspiring.

If you read my previous post you will know that I struggle to dress in the summer. I don't feel as inspired as I would in the autumn or winter. Don't get me wrong I love the sun but I also love all the textures, colours and layers associated with the colder months from warm knits to faux fur coats there is so much choice and variety in comparison to summer clothes.

Most of the items in my wardrobe are not suitable for the summer. I've never really bothered with a summer wardrobe in the past as it seems so pointless when summer only lasts a week!

So as the hot weather seems to be here to stay I decided to go on a shopping trip to find some more summer appropriate outfits and hopefully some inspiration too!!

Well what can I say, the shops didn't disappoint! I got quite a few pieces that wouldn't leave me a sweaty mess this summer! My favourite find though has to be this cute tartan mini skirt I found in Primark. It screams Clueless, but alas there was no matching blazer (Ugh, As If!) So I couldn't go full on Cher Horowitz. Instead I paired the skirt with this crop top I found in the Zara sale for £5.99, this is such a great transition piece and will be easy to layer up in autumn and winter.

I finished the look with a silver ankh necklace, a pair of chunky heels and these awesome Fear and Loathing style glasses. I love these glasses so much right now and they match the skirt perfectly bringing the whole look together.

How and where do you look for inspiration when it comes to your style and outfit choices?
