THEY'RE BACK!! Yes, I couldn't resist bringing back the PVC trousers, I am just obsessed!
Anyway, putting aside my current vinyl obsession, in this weeks look I am showing you how I do grown up grunge...

Grown up grunge is an odd term as grunge is something you usually associate with youth and angst. But it has evolved so much throughout the years gaining popularity, particularly within the fashion world. Ironically grunge started as an anti-fashion 'movement' but it's more mainstream now than ever!

Grown up grunge is pretty easy to do. You still keep the fundamentals of the grunge style such as the layers, the oversized, boxy shapes and distressed garments but here's where you add the twist. Instead of wearing combat boots or Dr Martens I have replaced them with a pair of chunky heels, this instantly vamps up the look giving it a more fashionable feel, yet still appealing to the grunge aesthetic. Another example of this is my PVC pants, they aren't classic grunge but they still look edgy and cool, I also really love the texture and dimension that they add to the overall outfit. There are so many different things you can do to 'grow up' a look, I've only touched on the surface on what you can do. Just have a play around with some different outfits and don't be afraid to mix it up!

I find that they key to the whole grunge look is to look like you don't care, like you've just chucked it all together from off of your floor, it's effortless, so keep that in mind!

Thanks for reading!
What do you think of the whole grown up grunge look? How would you do it?
