DRESS - H&M
BOOTS - ASOS
BANDANA - PRIMARK
In my last post I looked at shopping smart and how to prep your wardrobe for a new season. This week I've decided to continue this idea of shopping smart and sticking to a budget as a lot of us, unfortunately, don't have all the money in the world to spend on clothing and need to balance out what we spend.
A great way to do this is to invest in a few statement pieces and build around them with more affordable garments. By shopping around your key pieces you will find that you get the most out of them and are less likely to have those odd items in your wardrobe that never go with anything else. Admit it, you probably have at least one!
With that in mind during my recent shop I noticed that H&M seemed to have expanded on their basic range to include more on trend pieces such as oversized t-shirt dresses, printed sweatshirts and playsuits, all of which are available in a wide variety of colours and patterns. One of the items I ended up buying was this black and grey stripped t-shirt dress. It's so affordable at £7.99 that it was hard to resist buying it in another colour!
I paired the dress with one of my favourite statement pieces, my pair of cleated heel, knee high boots. I invested in these boots last year for £55 and I've defiantly got my money's worth out of them!
This week's look is a pretty simple one, for as much as I love playing with lots of layers and textures there is just something classic about a simplistic look. That is what's so brilliant about basic garments, they are so versatile and can either be dressed up or down.
So next time your shopping go and have a look at the basic section, most high street stores have them now. Personally my favourite shops for basics have to be H&M and Zara. It's a great way to build up your wardrobe.

Love this look. I'm really loving the thigh high boots that are in this season but really not sure I can get away with them!
ReplyDeleteThank You! Thigh high boots are the best. You only need a bit of confidence to pull them off! X
