Lets face it, we all have those garments lying about that we never wear or that have been worn way to many times and are falling apart. I find that reassessing what is in your wardrobe at the start of each season really helps narrow down all the unnecessary items and makes way for new purchases.
The key to clearing your wardrobe is to be ruthless!
If anything has seen better days and is beyond repair, BIN IT. As for the items that have rarely seen the light of day, give yourself a few weeks to see if you can wear them or pair them up with anything in your existing wardrobe. If you don't have a good enough reason or occasion to keep the garments for, either send them to a charity shop, give to a friend or sell online via sites and apps such as eBay and Depop. Trust me you will feel a lot better once you are clutter free.

Now you should be in a good position to refresh your look and wardrobe, also if you sold your unwanted clothes you may even have a bit of money to put towards your shop!
I have recently taken my own advice and cleared my wardrobe of all old and unworn garments. I found it really helped me realise what items of clothing I needed to buy on my shop, so there was no regrettable impulse buys!
This is one of the outfits I brought whilst on my shopping trip last week. I noticed whilst going through my clothes that I had way too many tops and not enough bottoms or dresses, so that was my first priority.
I found these really comfy mom jeans in New Look for £13! They're a nice change from skinny jeans as they are a lot more relaxed. To pull the jeans in and enhance my waist I added this amazing double buckle belt from Primark, I love the design of this, it's really different and so detailed.
Now I know I didn't really need any more tops but I've been eyeing this bodysuit / leotard in H&M for a while now, so at £9.99 I thought I may as well treat myself!
I finished this look off with an oversized plaid shirt dress I found in Primark. I'm obsessed with plaid shirt dresses at the moment they look so good and can be worn in so many different ways. I've worn it this time unbuttoned as a light jacket.
Overall I had a pretty successful shopping trip and came back with quite a few much needed garments. This is definitely a smarter way to shop for your new season wardrobe.
Do you have any smart shopping tips?

Love this outfit so much! You look great. :) one of my main shopping tips is to check out charity shops frequently as then you can get some bits for your wardrobe for really cheap so then if you buy some new bits as well the costs sort of balance out if you get what I mean?! lol
